Freya is a runner up in the Yeovil Library Storyteller Competition

Freya S, in Year 5, entered the Yeovil Library Storyteller Competition, organised by Somerset Country Council to mark the 30th anniversary of the opening of Yeovil Library.

Freya’s story ‘The Pet Shop Escape’ captured the judges imagination and she was very excited to be awarded Runner Up. There was an award ceremony which Freya attended in the Library on Saturday 9 September 2017.

‘I wrote this story because I like animals and I like thinking about the adventures they could have. I was really happy when I found out that I was going to win a prize. I was given a special certificate and a Book Token which I am looking forward to spending. I think I might buy a new David Walliams book with it. There is another competition coming up in the Easter holidays and I think I will enter that one too.’
