Autumn Leaves by 4T

Golden autumn leaves crunch and somersault,

Drifting by like snowflakes on a frosty wind.

It feels more wintery but still warm.

Acorns desperately cling to stark trees.

It’s a magical thing seeing multi-coloured leaves in a whirlwind

And feeling the frosty frozen breeze dancing across my face.

There is the sound of birds singing their happy tune

As summer comes to an end and people walk merrily to church.

The scent of bonfires wafts towards me like waves in the sea

And I hear the crackle of wet wood whistling.

I remain in my toasty house, watching for falling acorns.
